We are seeking an experienced Cafe Supervisor to lead our team and ensure the smooth operations of our cafe. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, managing a team, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient cafe environment, while serving exceptional coffee.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and motivate cafe staff to maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they understand cafe policies and procedures.
- Train baristas, provide knowledge and expertise to staff and customers.
- Help manage staff shifts effectively to meet operational needs.
Customer Service:
- Foster a positive and friendly atmosphere for customers.
- Ensure staff are meeting customer service standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the cafe consistently meets or exceeds customer service standards.
Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
Financial Management:
- Assist in budget development and control expenses to maximize profitability.
- Handle cash transactions, reconcile daily sales, and prepare reports for management.
- Supervise staff’s cash handling and ensure SOP’s are being followed.
Quality Control:
- Ensure the quality and presentation of food and beverages meet established standards.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Maintain freshness and monitor expiration dates.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in hospitality management or a related field is welcome but not required.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a cafe or similar hospitality setting.
- 3+ years of Barista experience.
- Barista Trainer experience.
- Serve safe certified.
Skills:
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of financial management and inventory control.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Barista and coffee education and knowledge.
Availability:
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
